Frequently Asked Questions
What is Precordior?
Precordior is a company which produces health care solutions for mobile applications. Precordior is also a registered trademark. See Company section for more details.
What is CardioSignal?
CardioSignal is a mobile application which can be used for detecting atrial fibrillation (Afib).
How CardioSignal Atrial Fibrillation measurement works?
CardioSignal mobile application records data from accelerometer and gyroscope sensors for 60 seconds. The measurement data is sent to Precordior cloud where the data is analyzed and results are sent back to the application.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
When you delete your account, all your information is deleted except the raw sensor data. The raw sensor data doesn’t contain any information which can be connected to a user who has generated the measurement data. Our terms and conditions which user must accept, gives us rights to use your data for research purposes. This means that we use only the raw measurement data to improve our algorithms and to improve our services. We can also use the data in publications but all data is anonymous and we won’t release any information which can be linked to or identify any person.
How secure CardioSignal application and cloud are?
We take privacy and security seriously. All data is sent to the Precordior cloud over the secure encrypted connection and the data is also encrypted in our database. Data doesn’t contain any identifiable information about a user. We don’t save any data on your mobile device.
Does CardioSignal application store any information on a mobile device?
No. All measurement data is encrypted stored in Precordior cloud. You can access your measurement data also from CardioSignal website. (Will be released during 2019)
There are other similar alternatives on a market to measure my heart. Why should I use CardioSignal instead?
CardioSignal is based on patented and patent-pending gyrocardiography technology which is utilising mobile phone accelerometer and gyroscope. We have tested our solution on clinical trials with over 300 patients in a Finnish hospital and resulting sensitivity (correct diagnoses) was 95.3% and the specifity (no false positives) was 96.0%. The study was published in May 2018 by Circulation, the American Heart Association Journal, the world’s pre-eminent cardiology publication.
Other solutions on a market are based on different technology such as inferior camera-based pulse measurement but over 21% of recordings uninterprettable.
I can use also Apple watch for detecting ECG. Why should I use CardioSignal application?
AppleWatch provides single-lead ECG for detecting AFib, but is relatively expensive product. If you already have a smartphone, you have the technology for AFib detection in your pocket. Just download CardioSignal app and you are ready to go.
Why do I need an activation code?
We are piloting our solution during the summer 2019 and the application is only available through our selected partners. Our partners can provide the activation code.
After the piloting phase, we will provide different payment methods to subscribe our service.
Can I use the same account for both Android and iPhone?
Yes, you only need one account and you can use the same credentials for both Android and iPhone.
Later this year, when we will add support for monthly subscription, you can also pay once and use the service on both devices with the same credentials.
